		<description>numb tantrums
illustration of anthology of poems by YakeebLagos &#38;amp; Abeokuta (NG), 2016-2017
“No matter how much humanity evolves, love is sure to be what it is; the assurance that it is forever uncertain. Being mysterious is the essence of being alive in love, not knowing and owning every choice as statements. Tantrums without the power of sensation and the motion of feeling is nuclear and can be anything it is chosen to be, for me, it is raw sporadically emotive expressions plunging into the abyss of love, lust, being lost, depression, worry, acceptance/compromise and determination knowing that it is a time piece to find thy will to survive, live and thrive after loving with all your best, with your soul at risk of obliteration, you do for love, sifting between the mundane and spiritual and it is then you finally learn to throw numb tantrums....”&#38;nbsp;

Numb Tantrums is an experimental poetry chapbook by Yakeeb, illustrated by Aàdesokan&#38;nbsp; and self published, in partnership with the literary e-journal , Arts And Africa.

aàdesokan: flowers for the soulLagos (NG), 2018
“We are most real when we are suffering and it is hard to exist that way. Here is a flower for you, to heal the burden of existing, when you look at it, you must know to give peace a chance and let the fear you have fall away. Here is a flower for you, when you are alone and in spaces that nobody can find you.”

		<description>almost delirium
aàdesokan: almost deliriumLagos (NG), 2017&#38;nbsp;
“Every type of fear is simply just an iteration of fear of the unknown. The cycle of life however, points to the inevitability of this unknown- at any point in time, we simply cannot know, try as hard as we might. Who we are, who others are, what our purpose is- these questions continue to baffle me. Aàdesokan posits through this body of work, the edge of delirium arrives when one gives in to the inevitability of uncertainty. The artist is&#38;nbsp; found exploring&#38;nbsp; a state of mind&#38;nbsp; during a period of clinical depression&#38;nbsp; and has drawn these faces to engage in dialogue with.”

		<description>pvc meatway &#38;nbsp;
fashion-photo documentaryLagos (NG), 2018
“In Lagos, there is a bloody meat highway. On this highway, the motto is “Sell by all means”. Butchers from various market stalls and street corners have only one priority, sell the meat! Hygiene and presentation are always an afterthought and the level of compliance to health standards is very poor. People carry the meat on their heads, shoulders, in unwholesome sacks and dirty carts largely exposed to flies and similar elements for transportation thereby increasing the risk of contamination.

There is a unique way butchers can interact with all the bloody chaos of this highway, the PVC MEATWAY. It is by infusion of functionality and fashion to stand out from the chaos and maintain a decent level of health standard. &#38;nbsp;
Here we have Lagos butchers in PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) made outfits - aprons, belt bags, bucket hats using PVC table covers for the meat on display.”

		<description>masculine fecundity &#38;nbsp;
Lagos (NG), 2017-2018
Masculine Fecundity is an inquiry about the idea of masculinity and how it develops in young boys. Fecundity is used as a measure of the space of fertility that is often neglected wherein a young boy begins to birth a man to embody.

On becoming the man you decide to be, one must resolve the interdependence of the character and figure of masculinity in an endeavor to will forth a man to embody. Perhaps, it will take a persistent maneuvering through predisposed expectations and societal indoctrination of gender roles towards an almost individualistic actuality (the man that is unique to you/that belongs to you). There will always be a need to deter masculinity away from traditionally being just physicality and emotional intolerance

What is needed to birth a man? Masculine Fecundity?&#38;nbsp;

fordili: a cenotaphic allusion to cognition.
Lagos (NG), 2016&#38;nbsp;
“What role does perception play when telling a story? Do you tell it as it is or what you think it is? When I tell a story, I feel the weight of the aspects of the story that will never get told. Representation is always subjective, this is how the human mind functions, through subjection. In January 2016, I actively observed a marginalized population in Lagos locally referred to as “Agberos”. My observations and thoughts have been presented as cenotaphic allusions in this series.”
